3 Questions Every Brand Should Ask Before Launching A Campaign

  • April 14, 2025

Before you hit publish, boost, or go live, take a pause. Because a well-timed, beautifully designed campaign can still fail — if it’s not asking (and answering) the right questions.

Here are 3 questions that can make or break your next campaign:

1. What exactly are we trying to achieve?

I have always talked about goal setting first. What is it that you want to achieve with the campaign, and how is it going to serve you in the grander scheme of things?

Is it awareness, engagement, leads, or conversions? If your team can’t clearly articulate the primary goal, the campaign won’t know where it’s headed, either. Clarity leads to alignment — and that’s step one.

2. Who are we talking to, and what do they care about?

Identifying the right audience is a crucial part, It’s not enough to say, “our target audience is small business owners.” Zoom in.

What keeps them up at night? What motivates them? What language do they use? Identify their persona and mimic them in your campaign.

Campaigns that win are built around empathy, not assumptions.

3. How will we measure success?

When it comes to measuring success, it has to be data-backed. If success means “feeling good about the design,” we’ve already lost.

Understanding the KPIs that truly matter is important. Set real metrics tied to your goal. Think CTR, cost per lead, conversion rate, engagement rate — whatever fits the intent. If you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it.

Revisit these questions at every stage — planning, execution, and wrap-up. They’ll keep you focused, strategic, and honest.
