From Global Entrepreneurship to Empowering Immigrant Women
My journey with business started early, with something as simple as selling recipe books while continuing my education. That experience gradually led into sales and call-centre operations, working across international markets and learning how people, processes and businesses actually work. Alongside that practical experience, I completed an MBA in Entrepreneurship, which gave more structure to many of the lessons I was already learning through work.
Over time, working within businesses led to building them. I went on to establish call-centre operations serving clients in the UK, USA and Australia, and later co-founded a telecom business in Australia. As customer behaviour increasingly moved online, my focus gradually shifted towards digital marketing, eventually leading to the launch of We Love Digital Marketing in India and, later, in Canada.
Today, my work sits at the intersection of marketing, business strategy and entrepreneurship. What often begins as a marketing conversation can quickly lead into positioning, sales, customer experience or the larger direction of a business. Looking back, there was never one perfectly planned path connecting all these chapters — one experience simply led to another, and the learning continues.
Turning Entrepreneurial Experience Into Opportunity for Immigrant Women
Founding IWEC — Immigrant Women Entrepreneurs Canada came from seeing capable women struggle simply because the right support and connections were not always there. For immigrant women, that gap can feel even greater. Moving to a new country changes more than where you live or work — it can affect your confidence, network, identity and sense of belonging. I experienced that transition myself.
Over time, I realised that many immigrant women were not lacking in ability or ambition. What they often needed was access to people who understood the journey, could offer guidance, or help them build meaningful connections. That became the starting point for IWEC.
Today, IWEC brings immigrant women entrepreneurs together to find mentors, share experiences, build connections and support one another. In many ways, it reflects what has shaped my own career — building something new, learning along the way, and helping others do the same.
